Please take the time to stop by the CALIFORNIA AFRICAN AMERICAN
MUSEUM to see Black Chrome, an exhibit that provides an opportunity
to gain a broader understanding of the contributions African
Americans have made to motorcycle culture, mechanical technology
and aesthetics since World War II. Photos, interviews, objects
and motorcycles range from choppers to drag bikes. This California
focused exhibition spotlights the innovations and creativity
that have significantly changed the landscape of American motorcycling
and gives an in-depth glimpse to this growing and little documented
segment of African American culture.
The exhibition is a collaborative project funded by the
Automobile Club of Southern California and Friends, The Foundation
of the California African American Museum.
Now through April 12, 2009
